Compete to Innovate, Smart Tech for Life —— 2026 Safety Emergency Rescue Robot Competition: Guangzhou Grand Finals Conclude Successfully
From 10 to 24, the "2026 Safety and Rescue Robot Competition · Guangzhou" (hereinafter referred to as "the Competition") concluded successfully in Guangzhou under the guidance of the Emergency Management Research Center, Guangdong Provincial Department of Emergency Management, and Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Emergency Management. Organized jointly by the University of Emergency Management, Guangdong Academy of Sciences Association, Guangzhou Urban Investment Group, and Shenzhen Public Welfare Rescue Volunteer Federation, the competition was themed "Technology for Good, Life First." It brought together nearly 30 top tech teams from across the country who faced real-world disaster scenarios to comprehensively evaluate China's emergency rescue robots' operational effectiveness. As the exclusive title sponsor, Hobao New Energy provided green energy solutions to power all event activities and high-consumption rescue equipment throughout the competition.

Hard-core field testing: Forging elite rescue units in extreme scenarios
As a premier industry event focused on real-world special robot applications, this competition features two tracks—"High-Rise Fire Rescue" and "Natural Disaster Emergency Response"—covering 7 practical scenarios. Moving beyond theoretical exercises, the event recreated extreme disaster environments—including smoky stairwells, collapsed rubble, flooded muddy terrain, and deep-water rescue—at Lingnan Impression Garden and Yuexiu Mountain Swimming Pool 1:1.
At the finals, competing teams showcased intense hands-on challenges. Reconnaissance robot dogs precisely located life signals inside smoky shipping containers with visibility under 1 meters; quadruped robots waded through waterlogged areas and climbed steep staircases while carrying loads exceeding 30 kilograms; breaching robots entered narrow pipes with an inner diameter of just 80 centimeters to cut through high-hardness concrete; and drone swarms completed high-altitude glass breaking and precision airdrops despite strong wind interference.
Under extreme disaster conditions simulating power outages, network failures, and infrastructure disruptions, the portable green energy system provided by event title sponsor Hua Bao Xin Neng delivered stable, long-lasting power to on-site robotic dogs, drones, and the judges' display screens. This energy support ensured uninterrupted event operations and validated the deep collaboration between emergency solar-storage equipment and rescue robots in real-world scenarios.

Authoritative Review: National Experts Ensure Fair Competition
To ensure the professionalism and authority of the competition, the organizing committee has invited He Jingtang, founding initiator of the Guangdong Academy of Sciences and Chief Architect of the South China University of Technology School of Architecture Design & Research Institute, and Meng Jianmin, Chief Architect of Shenzhen General Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., to serve as expert members of the Arbitration Committee. A review panel comprising experts from research institutes under the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Guangdong Provincial Fire Rescue Corps, and leading universities has also been established. Through a two-tier verification mechanism—where assistant referees record scores on-site and expert referees conduct final reviews—the objectivity and fairness of the scoring results are guaranteed.
After intense competition, Xuanji Power and Tieao teams claimed the top honors in the High-Rise Fire Rescue and Natural Disaster Emergency Rescue tracks, respectively. Hikvision Wuxi, Nanxuanji Power, Nanyue Emergency, Tieao, Hanmeihao, Qianxing Innovation, Chengfeng Yuejing, and other teams secured first prizes across various events. In the preliminary innovation round, university teams from Tsinghua University and others demonstrated forward-thinking rescue solution design capabilities.

Commercialization: Closing the Industry Loop from Competition to Real-World Application
On 10 24, the award ceremony and results launch event for the competition were held at the Huxinsha All-Space Intelligent Experience Center in Guangzhou. During the event, the organizing committee officially released "Decoupled Practical Assessment Track Design Methodology for Emergency Scenarios (SDOT) and Its Empirical Application." This is China's first real-world robot assessment solution covering both high-rise fire suppression and natural disaster rescue, filling a critical gap in industry-standardized, replicable testing facilities. Additionally, "Methodology for Constructing an Emergency Simulation World Model" was launched simultaneously, aiming to digitize 7 major training modules through real-world scanning and bridge the final mile between virtual simulation and actual emergency response.
He Jingtang, Founding Initiator of the Guangdong Academy of Sciences Federation and Chief Architect at South China University of Technology's School of Architecture Design & Research Institute, emphasized that safety is the foundation of a livable city. This competition's focus on high-rise fire incidents and natural disaster rescue directly addresses critical safety challenges. Emergency response represents a high-risk scenario where robotics can be deployed first; however, the current lack of standardized scenario data remains a key constraint on further technological breakthroughs. By capturing real-world data, this event will play a vital role in strengthening the industry's data foundation. He recommended building a multi-stakeholder ecosystem linking government, research institutions, enterprises, and emergency responders to bridge the chain from research to application, thereby advancing urban safety infrastructure.
As a global leader in the portable power station industry, EcoFlow has always regarded "emergency support" as a core corporate responsibility. In major natural disaster relief operations, our green energy equipment has repeatedly served as a "lifeline," powering emergency command centers, restoring communications, and enabling medical rescue efforts to bring hope to affected areas. By deeply participating in this competition, we aim not only to ensure event safety but also to leverage this national-level practical testing platform to validate and advance the integration of "green energy" with "emergency response robots." Our goal is to ensure that our technology is truly reliable and ready when it matters most.

Building on the momentum of this competition, Guangzhou Digital Intelligence Emergency Technology Group was officially launched through a joint effort led by Guangzhou Urban Investment Group and other stakeholders. Anchored in the goal of establishing a national AI emergency pilot base, the group is committed to selecting top-performing teams and technologies from the competition for recommendation into the "Emergency Mission · 2026" Greater Bay Area drill advanced equipment list, thereby creating a complete chain from "competition validation" to "pilot conversion" and "industry cultivation."
Compete to innovate, compete to thrive. This competition is not only a showcase of technology and cutting-edge rescue capabilities but also a vivid demonstration of modernizing emergency management in megacities. Moving forward, all stakeholders will take this event as a new starting point to deepen the integration of technological innovation with emergency response systems, ensuring that technology truly serves as a robust shield for protecting people's lives and property.
